While I’ve been writing a lot lately on the subject of hiring, the subject and its application is far broader. Hiring requires knowledge of people.

Knowledge of people is useful in every aspect of life.

You will find my articles simple, because the basics of any subject are simple. When life or business gets complex, it’s gone off track.

Why we should all help entrepreneurs and leaders

It is my observation and belief that entrepreneurs and artist make the world a much more interesting place! These people create the businesses and jobs for everyone.

Imagine a world without music, computers, start-ups, new technologies, movies etc. Every single one starts with an idea.

Artists and entrepreneurs create these ideas and these are brought to life by managers and leaders and the hard working, valuable people of the world.

People don’t go home at the end of the week looking to consume the products of accountants or lawyers! 

You go home looking forward to watching a movie, or listening to music, or some other creation. Even as you sit in your beautiful home, it was the creation of an artist and decorated by an artist (my wife in this case).

Look over even the big corporations and well-known brands, the vast majority were once the idea of a “crazy” entrepreneur (often while in the garage!).

Everyone has the capacity to create value and interest in the world and quite frankly there’s little difference between an entrepreneur and an artist. While most people know me as an entrepreneur and business coach, I myself am a singer/songwriter.

The artistic attitude applies to more than music and movies: there’s art in closing a deal, creating a company, helping a client, training staff to perform….

Let’s face it life, is just like a movie, except you write the script, choose the actors and sometimes wrongly associate with the villains! There is no set rulebook for life and business. Most people are just making it up as they go along.

It is up to you to decide what genre your movie of life will be: A tragedy? A comedy? A romance? Or action adventure? The choices you make in your cast will largely determine which! So choose wisely…

Anyone who makes life interesting, more valuable deserves to be helped. Governments won’t do it, they exist on the value created by entrepreneurs and workers.

We need to help and support each other. It is up to you and I to bring more value into the world. That is why I write these articles and coach others.

Your success as an entrepreneur, leader, manager or person is intimately connected to the type of people you surround yourself with. And that is why you need to know how to hire.

Everyone is a leader

Next is the leader, and everyone has the capability to be a leader. You are a leader, even if a small portion of a company or just your life. Managers lead a company. Parents lead a family.

Hiring is not just for business, it’s who you use as a contractor for your house. It’s the types of friends you surround yourself with. It’s even who you marry!
